China Resources Group Headquarters Building

2017-12-26

The headquarters building of China Resources Group is designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, an American architectural firm specializing in super high-rise buildings. KPF has overseen the design work of over 200 high-rise and super high-rise buildings worldwide. The design proposal made by KPF for the headquarters building of China Resources Group this time adopts a unique cylindrical shape, with the appearance of a beautiful and upright "spring shoot" breaking through the ground on the shore of Shenzhen Bay, reaching a height of about 500 meters, which will create a new height for the western region of Shenzhen. As the future headquarters building of China Resources Group in mainland China, the "spring shoot" design is ingenious, embodying the meaning of "China's land, moistened by rain and dew". "Spring shoots after rain" is used to metaphorically describe the rapid emergence of new things in large quantities. This beautiful meaning not only echoes the vigorous development of various business sectors of China Resources Group, but also vividly portrays Shenzhen, a vibrant young and avant-garde city. The two buildings of "Spring Bamboo Shoots" and "Spring Cocoon" complement each other, while "Spring Cocoon" symbolizes pregnancy, accumulation, and transformation; "Spring bamboo shoots" mean progress, breakthrough, and unlimited growth. After the completion of the headquarters building of China Resources Group, it not only effectively solved the serious shortage of space faced by various departments of China Resources Group, but also greatly leveraged the advantages of centralized office, improved work efficiency, and established a new image of the group.

This project uses an electrical fire monitoring system independently developed by Jiangsu Sfere Electric Co., Ltd. The system is a new generation of electrical fire monitoring system with the main purpose of early warning and monitoring of electrical fires, applying digital technology and adopting a distributed design scheme. This system has passed the mandatory 3C certification of the National Fire Electronic Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center. This project uses over 4000 electrical fire monitoring detectors, greatly reducing the risk of fire in the Shenzhen Bay CR headquarters building due to electrical reasons.
